PURPOSE: To improve starting performance of an engine by properly setting the initial opening of a choke valve corresponding to an environmental temperature. ;CONSTITUTION: An initial valve opening setter 20 is connected to be associated with a choke lever 16 of a choke valve 15 in a carburetor 11 of an engine, also to connect an exhaust temperature heat sensitizing actuator 25 associated with this choke lever 16 through a transmitting equipment 19.
