PURPOSE: To prevent a circulating water pump from consuming useless power by a method wherein a state of gas-water separation is not generated in a circulation water system of a power generating plant and an actual non-required increasing of head of the circulating water pump is restricted. ;CONSTITUTION: A movable dam 17 which can be moved up and down is installed at a discharging dam part 11. In addition, there are provided a water level meter 18 for sensing the difference between a water surface level 13 of the discharging dam part 11 and a target water level, a converter 19 for converting this water level difference to a control signal and a driving device 20 operated in response to the control signal and for moving the movable dam 17 in an upward or a downward direction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
