PURPOSE: To completely remove wax by heating for a short time by using a vinyl based polymer having a repeating structure contg. the unit structures of formula I and formula II at specific amt. as a wax material for a prototype casting mold. ;CONSTITUTION: The vinyl based polymer having at least one among the repeating units expressed by the formula I and the formula II within a range of 50 to 100wt.% is used as the wax material. R¹ is H or CH³. R² is 15 to 30C aliphat. hydrocarbon group. B is the structure of formula III. R⁴ and R⁵ are respective H or 1 to 30C aliphat. hydrocarbon groups. At least either of R⁴ and R⁵ are 15 to 30C aliphat. hydrocarbon groups. This vinyl based polymer has sufficient strength and a relatively low m. p.
