PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method at a low cost for obtaining separate streams of methanol (A) and ethanol (B), and n-propanol (C) and isobutanol (D) used for the synthesis of a high octane value product from a mixture containing methanol (A), ethanol (B), n-propanol (C), isobutanol (D), water and other both low boiling compounds (E) and high boiling compounds (F). ;SOLUTION: This method for obtaining separate streams is provided by feeding a mixture into a first rectifying column 4, taking out an inert product (E) from its head, (A) and (B) from its upper side part, and a liquid flow from its lower side part, cooling the liquid flow, then separating the same into an aqueous phase and an organic phase, recirculating the latter into the first rectifying column for obtaining a liquid flow containing (C), (D) and (F), feeding the same flow into a second rectifying column 20 to obtain a flow containing (C) from its head and a flow containing (D) and (F) from its bottom, feeding the aqueous phase obtained from the first rectifying column into a third rectifying column, and recovering an alcohol at its head and discharging a flow consisting of water from its bottom.
