ARTIFICIAL STONE PRODUCT HAVING MARBLE GRAIN PARTICLE-CONTAINING SURFACE LAYER AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE: To enable the formation of marble grain patterns and the coating of a base layer by providing one resin layer having particles for developing marble grain patterns contained and dispersed therein on the surface of a base material layer to mold an artificial stone product. ;CONSTITUTION: A base material 14 obtained by mixing unsaturated polyester, a calcium carbonate powder and a curing agent in a predetermined ratio is poured in a mold 12 to be applied to a gel coat layer 13 and, after the formed base material layer 15 is semicured, the mold 12 is introduced into a curing oven to cure the base material layer 15. A molded product 16 is demolded from the mold 12 to be reversed. This molded product 16 has a two-layered structure wherein the gel coat layer 13 is integrally molded on the surface of the base material layer 15. Since the resin present between ceramic sintered particles 17 becomes a shrunk state on the surface of the gel coat layer 13 of the molded product 16, the sintered particles 17 protrude from the surface of the gel coat layer 13. Therefore, the surface of the gel coat layer 13 of the molded product 16 is ground to be made smooth to produce an artificial stone product S having a marble graian particle-containing surface layer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
