END FACE INSPECTION DEVICE FOR OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTOR

摘要

PURPOSE: To provide an optical fiber connector end face inspection device having the capability of integrating each section into a unit for better assemblage with an enclosure, simplifying a production process and making efficient the inspection of the ground end face of an optical fiber connector. ;CONSTITUTION: An optical fiber block 13 having an optical fiber holding section connected to a rising section 1a, and an objective lens 12, a half-mirror 14 and a lighting source integrated with one another, is kept slidable via guide rods 8a to 8c. When a focal point adjusting dial 17 to form a focal point adjusting mechanism is turned, a focal point adjustment turning section 16 turns around a support shaft 15 as a center and causes the block 13 to advance or retreat, thereby focusing reflected light from the plane of transparent glass 7 to CCD 21. According to this construction, the block 13 is unitized, and can be easily built into an inspection device easily. Also, another block can be additionally provided easily. As a result, inspection efficiency for a ground end face can be enhanced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
