INTERMITTENTLY INDEXING DEVICE AND TOOL INDEXING HEAD FOR MACHINE TOOL

PURPOSE: To provide an intermittently indexing device of high rigidity and durability capable of preventing as far as possible giving damage to an engaging part between a tapered rib and a cam follower and a main bearing part of an output shaft, even when an excessive load is applied to input/output shafts. ;CONSTITUTION: An input shaft 24 and an output shaft 26 are journalled to a housing 22 movable in a horizontal direction on a base of a machine tool. A globoidal cam 36 and a turret 42 are integrally mounted respectively in the input shaft and the output shaft, further to fixedly provide radially in the turret a plurality of cam followers 40 engaged with a tapered rib 38 of the globoidal cam. A rotary disk of holding a plurality of tools is provided in an end of the output shaft, to positioning-fix the prescribed tool to a workpiece work position at machining time. A clamp device 45, suitably engaging from sideward with a peripheral part of the output shaft 24 to be capable of holding the output shaft firmly locked, is provided in the housing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
