PURPOSE: To produce an aluminum coated Cr-containing steel sheet used for building materials (roof, wall) and excellent in corrosion resistance in a worked part and at an end face. ;CONSTITUTION: This steel sheet is (1) a hot dip aluminum coated Cr-containing steel sheet excellent in corrosion resistance in a worked part and at an end face, prepared by using a steel, containing ≤0.1% C, 9-25% Cr, ≤0.6% Si, ≤1.5% Mn, and ≤0.04% P, and forming a hot dip aluminum coating layer, having a composition consisting of ≤13% Si and the balance essentially Al, via an alloy layer, containing the components of both of the steel and the aluminum coating layer, on the steel. Further, this steel sheet is (2) a hot dip aluminum coated Cr-containing steel sheet excellent in corrosion resistance in a worked part and at an end face, prepared by using a steel, containing ≤0.1% C, ≤0.6% Si, 9-25% Cr, ≤1.5% Mn, and ≤0.04% P and further containing Ti and/or Nb by the amount equal to or higher than the atomic equivalent of (C+N) content and not higher than 2%, and forming a hot dip aluminum coating layer, having a composition consisting of ≤13% Si and the balance essentially Al, via an alloy layer, containing the components of both of the steel and the aluminum coating layer, on the steel.
