PURPOSE: To obtain the correlation between the distortion and stress of a test piece by measuring, at every very shot time, each change of a load and the length of the test piece due to the load in the way of the application of the load. ;CONSTITUTION: When a test piece T is placed on a stand 1 and the measuring device is driven, a servo motor 4 of an electric cylinder 12 is driven and a load member 2 is lowered and then the test piece T is compressed. Then, after the member 2 comes into contact with the test piece T, servo driver 14 is activated based on a torque command from a microcomputer 15 and a load applied to the member 2 increases with the lapse of time. The change of the load and the length of the test piece T due to the load are measured at every very shot period of time by a rotary encoder 12 and the correlation between distortion and stress regarding the test piece T is calculated an every very shot period of time by the microcomputer 15 based on the measurement result, and successively stored.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
