PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester carbonate composition which can give a molding having improved stress cracking resistance without detriment to flexibility inherent in the constituent polyester carbonate by mixing a polyester carbonate with a small amount of a polyetherimide and a small amount of a siloxane polyether imide copolymer. ;CONSTITUTION: A polyester carbonate (desirably, one prepared by condensing bisphenol A with terephthaloyl dichloride and phosgene) is blended with 5-30 pts.wt. polyetherimide having repeating units of formula I (wherein f is 10-500; R2 is a 2-12C divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon, a 6-30C divalent aromatic hydrocarbon, or the like; and R1 is a 6-30C divalent aromatic organic group) and (B) 0-5 pts.wt. thermoplastic siloxane polyetherimide copolymer [e.g. a copolymer having units of formula I and interrupted by polysiloxane units of formula II (wherein R5 is a 1-14C divalent hydrocarbon group; R6 is a 1-14C monovalent hydrocarbon group; and d is 4-40)].;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
