PURPOSE: To provide a pickling method for efficiently peeling scales in the lapped part of wire rods at the time of subjecting a wire rod coil to batch pickling. ;CONSTITUTION: At the time of subjecting a wire rod coil to pickling, it is executed in such a manner that a pickling bath is stirred and flowed while a fresh pickling soln. is fed even to the closed part of the lapped part of the wire rods. Also, at the time of washing and neutralizing after the pickling, the treatment is executed in such a manner that the soln. is stirred and flowed. Furthermore, by a method in which pickling is executed while a pickling soln. in which the concn. of tervalent iron ions is regulated to 10g/l to 6Og/l. is flowed and stirred, the pickling treatment for a wire rod coil is efficiently made possible. As for the batch pickling method for a wire rod coil, the pickling is finished for a time of about 50% compared to the case of the conventional pickling method, the operability can remarkably be improved, and the wire rods having good surface properties can be obtd.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
