PURPOSE: To enhance reliability and maintain definitely and stably earthquake resistance for a long period by installing a seismic base isolation layer of a hardened substance which is a silicon composition into a clearance between a lining of an underground structure and a surrounding ground. ;CONSTITUTION: There is formed a seismic base isolation layer 4 which comprises a silicon composition or a liquid silicon composition in a clearance produced between a lining member 1 of an underground structure and its surrounding ground 2. The liquid silicon composition further includes a condensation reaction cured product type. In this case, the properties as curing substance are specified as follows: The shear elastic coefficient is below 50kgf/cm², the Young modulus is below 150kgf/cm², and Poisson's ratio ranges from 0.4 to 0.5.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
