PURPOSE: To estimate an injury of belly part by installing a band in the up-and-down direction in the front so as to fix one end to a dummy belly part, installing a plurality of gages at the band in the length direction, detecting a bending strain in the belly part in a collision, and finding the transition in terms of time of the bending strain in every part of the band on the basis of its detection. ;CONSTITUTION: An elastic thin-plate member 20 which forms a band 2 is composed of a rectangular stainless steel plate which is, e.g. 0.1mm thick, 12.7mm wide and 296mm long, and its lower end is fixed to the lower part in the front of a belly part 10. For example, 15 gages 3 are installed in the longitudinal direction of the member 20, the member 20 and a flexible printed-circuit board to be used as a lead wire are placed and positioned on a PTFE sheet one face of which has been coated with an adhesive and which is about 0.13mm thick. They are wired and connected, and their surfaces are covered with the PTFE sheet so as to form the integrated band 2. A deformation-amount measuring device 4 finds the history of the deformation amount in every part on the basis of the detection amount of the deformation in every part in the band 2 by the gages 3 when a belt 15 collides, it finds the deformation amount, and it can estimate the injury of belly part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
