PURPOSE: To obtain an apparatus for measuring removed earth amount by which a precise removed earth amount is detected stably without being influenced by the quality of soil and by the condition of a site. ;CONSTITUTION: A section image formation part is installed in such a way that section search waves such as electromagnetic waves 40 or the like are directed to earth and sand 21 at a position P1 on a belt conveyor 12 and that, on the basis of reflected waves 41 which have caught the earth and sand, section information which reflects the inner section state of the earth and sand 21 at the position P1 is formed. A cross sectional area arithmetic means is installed in such a way that the cross sectional area of the earth and sand 21 is operated by counting the number of pixels which are regarded as the 'earth and sand' in an earth-and-sand-section processed image PHS2 which has been extracted on the basis of the section information and which has been stored inside an image memory in a binary-processed form according to a density state. A removed-earth amount is measured and detected by using the apparatus for measuring removed earth amount 16 wherein a unit removed earth amount arithmetic part which operates a unit removed earth amount on the basis of the product of the cross-sectional area multiplied by the belt speed of the belt conveyor 12, a removed earth amount integration part which integrates the found unit removed earth amount and the like have been installed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
