PURPOSE:To improve the compaction of the title machine, prevent an unexpected accident caused by the extrusion of a feed screw, and further enhance the reliability of an upper and lower limit detector by a method wherein a motor for elevation is mounted on a cutting head, the feed screw is provided downward from a bridge in a suspended state, and the upper and lower limit detector is disposed on the cutting head. CONSTITUTION:A guide bar 2 is provided on a base 1 in a suspended state, and the top end thereof is held by a bridge 3. The guide bar 2 is fitted, in a vertically slidable state, with a cutting heat 6 equipped with a circular rip saw 4 and a circular cross-cut saw 5. The cutting head 6 is provided with a motor 7 for elevation and a transmission gear, and the terminal shaft of the transmission gear is constituted of a feed gear 8 having a female screw. A feed screw 9 is fixed to the bridge 3 so as to mesh with the feed gear 8, and thus an elevation device is formed. Accordingly, this results in improvement in the compaction of the title machine, movable members are handled within the frame of the main body so as not to be extruded outward from the outer frame of the main body during an elevating operation, and further the reliability of an upper and lower limit detector can be enhanced.
