PURPOSE: To obtain a performance improving agent for water-soluble processing oil for machine tool capable of imparting putrefaction preventability and lubricity, improving coolability for tools, grinding stones, etc., and further improving the life, processing accuracy, processing efficiency, etc., of the tools, the grinding stones, etc., by mixing tourmaline fine powder with the fine powder of ceramics, etc., and subsequently granulating the mixture. ;CONSTITUTION: This improving agent is obtained by mixing the fine powder (e.g. containing fine powder having particle diameters of ≤30μm in an amount of 5-40% and having a powder factor of ≥20%) of tourmaline such as a compound of formula: 3[NaX3Al6(BO3)3Si6O18(OH)4] (X is Mg, Fe, Li, Al) with the fine powder of ceramics such as alumina-silica, carbon, diode, etc., and subsequently granulating the mixture. The improving agent is obtained e.g. by selecting tourmaline base rock, grinding the base rock, mixing the obtained fine power with the fine powder of the ceramic, the carbon, the diode, etc., having the same average particle size, kneading the mixture together with an acrylic or vinyl acetate binder, granulating the kneaded product into 1-5mm granules, drying the granules, sintering the dried granules, and further granulating the sintered products.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
