LAPPING DEVICE FOR CHARACTER-ENGRAVING SEAL SURFACE AND LAPPING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: To surely finish a seal surface flatly by simple operations by forming an opening section which is larger than the seal surface of a seal material but smaller than the lower surface of a seal material hold section, in an elastic plate which is slidably interposed between the lower surface of the seal material and a lapping plate. ;CONSTITUTION: An elastic plate 12 and a thin plate 11 are piled up over a lapping plate 13, on which a seal material hold section 1 is rested, a seal material is inserted therein from above, a seal surface is brought into contact with the lapping plate 13 for positioning the seal material 10, and the seal material is thereby held so as to be fixed therein. The thin plate 11 is then moved in such a way as to be separated from the top of the lapping plate 12. This constitution thereby allows the seal surface to be projected out of the opening section 12a of the elastic plate 12 by the thickness of the thin plate 11 in a state that the seal material 10 is held by the seal material hold section 1, when the seal material hold section 1 is rested on the elastic plate 12. Under the aforesaid condition, the lower surface of the seal material hold section is slid over the elastic plate 12 while the seal material hold section 1 is being moved in the horizontal direction, so that highly accurate lapping is thereby performed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
