BUILT-UP WELDING METHOD BY LASER

PURPOSE: To improve and stabilize the quality of built-up welding by preventing penetration of a base material to a cladding side or defects in welding. CONSTITUTION: While a rotary feeding is imparted to the valve seat 2 of a cylinder head 1, a copper base alloy powder 5 is continuously supplied by a prescribed quantity. The copper base alloy powder 5 is irradiated by a laser beam which is linearly formed through a columnar concave mirror and an integrating mirror provided with a narrow plane mirror as segment, thereby forming a built-up layer of the copper base alloy on the valve seat 2.
