PURPOSE: To obtain a phased array antenna capable of improving the measuring accuracy of a phase error and having an excellent temperature characteristics by inverting the phases of all phase shifters excluding a phase shifter to be measured and removing an unnecessary signal component. ;CONSTITUTION: The phase shift quantity of respective phase shifters 3 is controlled so that the receiving output of an integral monitor manifold 5 is maximized and the phase of a phase shifter 3' to be measured is rotated every 90° from 0° up to 360° to measure a synthetic output Ain in each phase. After inverting the phases of all phase shifters 3 excluding the phase shifter 3' by 180°, the phase of the phase shifter 3' is rotated in each 90° and similar measurement is executed to find out a synthetic output Bin in each phase. The phase error of the phase shifter 3' is calculated from a scaler value obtained by detecting synthetic outputs Ain, Bin by a detector 6 based upon a prescribed operation expression, and when the phase error is deviated from an allowable value, a beam scanning direction is controlled by correcting the phase shift quantity.
