PURPOSE:To perform processing in real time by adding a coordinate code to character code data on a display screen and storing the character code data following the coordinate order in the displayed direction by display lines or rows including KANA (Japanese syllabary giving the pronunciation of a Chinese character) after sorting. CONSTITUTION:A CD-I payer 11 reads data from the sector 62 of a CD-1 disk 33 and displays sound data, picture data, and character code data as pictures after respectively processing the data and, at the same time, outputs the data as sounds. The character code data 63 are stored in the sector 62 after the data 63 are sorted in the order displayed on a display screen in accordance with their coordinate codes including KANA. Therefore, the CD-I player 11 can display characters on the screen in the order of coordinates in the displaying direction.
