PURPOSE: To remove suspended organic substances and phosphorus components efficiently and also to remove the total organic carbon and soluble organic carbon by incorporating specified amounts of salt, iron components, and protein type substances into plain water type waste water and separating suspended pollutants which are adsorbed on a foam generated by the introduction of air. ;CONSTITUTION: Suspension-polluted water 1 is pumped by a pump 2, and specific amounts of a salt-containing solution 4a such as seawater, protein type substances 4b, and a iron salt solution 4c are injected by fixed volume pumps 3a-3c to be mixed with the polluted water. The polluted water mixed with the components is introduced into a gas-liquid contact/foam separation tank 7, to which air is introduced. Namely, air is introduced from an air introduction hole 9 by the rotation of a blade 10 and by utilizing an air self suction type aerator 8 which is connected directly with a motor M to supply fine bubbles continuously into liquid. In this process, a salt component in the concentration in liquid of 10 per mill or more and soluble iron salt of 1.0mg/liter or more in terms of iron are added and mixed. When bubbles do not form a foam stabilized on a water surface, the protein type substance is dissolved in a concentration of 0.01ppm or more.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
