PURPOSE: To provide a method for deciding the position and number of air vent holes provided at a mold by using a simulation by a computer without actual trial manufacture of the mold in a blow molding. ;CONSTITUTION: The model of a cavity shape engaged in a mold formed from the model of the initial shape of a parison extruded from a molding machine and the object product shape is input to a computer as input data. The position of air storage generated between the parison and a mold in the molding step is predicted from the contact state of the parison predicted by simulating the molding step in the blow molding by the computer with the mold, and the position and number of air vent holes provided at the mold are decided from the result before the trial manufacture.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
