PURPOSE: To obtain a new cDNA containing a specific base sequence, encoding a large subunit of ADP-glucose pyrophosphorylase of rice plant, capable of enforcing starch synthesizing ability of rice plant, raising productivity and improving yield of rice plant. ;CONSTITUTION: This new cDNA contains a base sequence from the 134th to 1960th of a base sequence of the formula, encodes a large subunit of ADP- glucose pyrophosphorylase of rice plant and is capable of enforcing starch synthesizing ability of rice plant and improving yield of rice plant by connecting the DNA to the downstream of a promoter functioning by a plant to constitute a recombinant plasmid and incorporating it into a nucleus genome of rice plant. This cDNA is obtained by rapidly freezing a ripened seed of rice plant by liquid nitrogen, crushing it, extracting a RNA, separating a mRNA, preparing a cDNA library using the mRNA as a template, carrying out PCR using a primer, amplifying a cDNA of ADP-glucose pyrophosphorylase and cloning.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
