PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound of a specific silylated ferrocenyldiphosphine, and useful for enantioselective hydrogenation catalyst, a catalyst bound to an inorganic or organic support by a silyl group and readily separated from a reaction product, or the like. ;SOLUTION: This compound is a new silylated ferrocenyldiphosphine of formula I [R₁ is a 1-8C al-kyl, a (substituted) phenyl or the like; R₂, R₃, R₁₀ and R₁₁ are each a 1-12C alkyl, a 5-12C (substituted) cycloalkyl, a (substituted) phenyl or the like; R₁₂ is a 1-12C alkyl, a 3-7C cycloalkyl, phenyl or the like; R₁₃ is a 1-12C alkylene or phenylene; Z is Cl, NH₂, an NH-(1-12C alkyl) or the like]. The compound provides a compound useful as an enantioselective catalyst capable of readily separated from the product by reacting with a silyl group to bind to an inorganic or a polymeric support. The compound is obtained by reacting a ferrocene of formula II with butyllithium, further reacting the product with a compound of the formula ClPR₁₀R₁₁ and a compound of the formula ClSi(R₁₂)₂-(R₁₃)-Cl, and further reacting the product with a compound of the formula HPR₂R₃.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
