END FACE INSPECTION APPARATUS FOR OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTOR

PURPOSE: To inspect the end face of an optical fiber connector easily at a site where an optical fiber is laid without requiring examination with the naked eye. ;CONSTITUTION: An illuminator 3 illuminates the end face of an optical fiber connector 6 and the reflected light passes through an objective lens 2 and a halt mirror 5 to be focused on a CCD 7. The image focused on the end face of the optical fiber connector 6 is then converted into a video signal and the enlarged image of the end face, being picked up, is viewed on a CRT monitor. A battery 10 is built in, an optical system and an image pickup system are arranged linearly, and a display section is arranged on the surface of the apparatus in parallel with the optical system thus realizing a portable apparatus.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
