PURPOSE:To provide an apparatus for preventing icing of fuel or other caused in the vicinity of a low port of a carburetor in cold seasons, which is capable or remove icing promptly by disposing a heater including a PTC element in the manner that it is urged onto the bottom surface of the carburetor by means of a spring. CONSTITUTION:In an icing preventing apparatus for a carburetor, in which a heat insulator 7 is connected to the downstream-side end of the carburetor 8 having a slow port 9 and an idle port 10 formed at the portions of an intake passage 12 in the vicinity of a throttle valve 11, a recess 15 is formed in the upper surface of the heat insulator 7 to face the bottom surface of the carbu retor 8. In said recess 15, there is provided a heater 20 which serves as an apparatus for preventing icing caused in the vicinity A of the slow port 9. The heater 20 is disposed under the lower surface of the carburetor together with a heater plate 1 which is able to project toward the carburetor side. Fur ther, the heater 20 is composed of a PTC element 2 which is held in place by a resin spacer 3 together with an electrode 4 and a spring 5 adapted for urging the above members upward.
