PURPOSE:To learn the center position of a bolt hole and to automatically fasten the bolt and nut by making a position detector which is mounted on the top end of a fastening hand to pass over the bolt hole and arithmetically processing the signal come from the detector. CONSTITUTION:A bolt/nut fastening device 5 consists of a main body part 5a and a bolt/nut fastening part 5b, and the fastening part 5b is constituted so as to be driven to move in the radius direction against the main body part 5a. On a table head 12 of the fastening part 5b, a table head 13 in which a fastening hand part 16 is incorporated is provided so as to be driven to move in the horizontal direction by a motor 14. The center position of the bolt hole 1 is measured by making the position detector 19 which is arranged on the top end of the fastening hand 16 so pass over the bolt hole 17 in the radius direction and arithmetically processing the signal come from the detector 19. Also by using the obtained result and correcting the position of the bolt hole being set beforehand, the bolt and nut are automatically fastened with the fastening device 5.
