PRODUCTION OF TITANIUM ALLOY HOOP

摘要

PURPOSE: To produce a titanium alloy hoop, having superior surface condition free from the occurrence of flaw and roughing at the time of cold rolling, with extremely high efficiency in a short time. ;CONSTITUTION: A stock to be rolled, composed of titanium alloy, is heated under the conditions of 1000-1050°C heating time and 2-3hr in-furnace time and rolled. The resulting hoop is coiled and then subjected, plural times, to a repetition of shot blasting treatment and acid pickling treatment consisting of immersion in an aqueous solution of nitrous acid of 23-25% concentration at 40-50°C liquid temp. for 5-7min. As the titanium alloy, beta titanium alloy can be suitably used.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
