REPELLENT FOR MOLLUSKS BELONGING TO GASTROPODS

PURPOSE: To obtain a repellent for mollusks belonging to gastropods such as slugs and snails, consisting of pellets by pelletizing the strained lees of the seeds of Theaceae plants after expressing oils therefrom, with the adjustment of the oil contents of the pellets within a prescribed limits. CONSTITUTION: This repellent for mollusks belonging to gastropods comprises pellets obtained by pelletizing the strained lees of the seeds of Theaceae plants (Tea, Camellia sasanqua and Camellia japonica are suitable) after expressing oils therefrom with the adjustment of oil contents in the pellets within 5-18wt.%. To adjust the oil contents of the pellets, the addition of oils and fats (vegetable oils and fats are suitable) is preferable. In the cases that the oil contents are in the above range, a durability for a long period is obtained by the sustained release of active ingredients. By forming this repellent as pellets, the sustained release of the active ingredient is enabled perfect and at the same time an easy handling of the repellent is also available. This repellent can prevent and expel earth worms besides slugs and snails. Furthermore, it can be used for every plants with a sense of security and is safe to human bodies, pets and live stocks.
