PURPOSE: To reduce the computational work load and to provide a realistic snow fall scenery by controlling the size and the luminance of snow particles using a random scan system. ;CONSTITUTION: The surface of a simulation image is constituted through a plane system coordinate transformation section 5, a plane system perspective transformation section 6 and a line drawing generating section 7. A texture generating section 4 generates texture data which add patterns to the image data of a surface so as to make the surface more realistic. As a result, patterns are added to the simulated image plane and it becomes more realistic. Simulated snow fall and light points are added to the plane synthesized screen, the snow fall is displayed by a random scan system electron beam emition time and the simulation is performed. A size control section 24 controls the size of snow particles by varying the focus value of the electron beam of a display device 25 in accordance with the distance from the viewing point. A luminance control section 25 controls the luminance of the snow particles in accordance with the distance from the viewpoint.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
