PRODUCTION OF TANTALUM HYDRATE AND/OR NIOBIUM OXIDE AND RESULTED TANTALATE AND NIOBATE

PURPOSE: To obtain spherical Ta and/or Nb oxide by adding an ammonia soln. contg. CO₂ to an acidic fluoride soln. prepd. by dissolving Ta and/or Nb. ;CONSTITUTION: The ammonia soln. contg. the CO₂ is added to the acidic fluoride soln. prepd. by dissolving the Ta and/or Nb until the pH thereof attains 7 and thereafter, the precipitate formed by reaction is filtered, by which the (hydrated) spherical Ta and/or Nb oxide is obtd. The (hydrated) spherical Ta and/or Nb oxide and the material selected from metal oxide, hydroxide and carbonate are mixed at a corresponding to stoichiometric ratio and the mixture is fired, by which the spherical tantalic acid and/or niobium acid metal having a BET value of 1 m²/g is obtd.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
