PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the performance improvement of an extremely thin tubular grain emulsion and an emulsion and a photographic element having the max. performance that can be attained with a color photograph. ;SOLUTION: This improved radiation sensitive emulsion has a dispersion medium, silver halide grains contg. the tabular grains (a) having {111} main faces, (b) contg. bromide exceeding 70mol% of silver, (c) occupying the ratio exceeding 90% of the total grain projection area, (d) having an average equiv. circular diameter of at least 0.7μm, (e) having 0.07μm average thickness and (f) having latent image formable chemically sensitized parts on the surfaces of the tubular grains and spectral sensitizing dyestuffs absorbed on the surfaces of the tubular grains.
