PURPOSE:To prevent the dispersion in the thickness of core materials and to improve yield in pack rolling of=3 layers to produce light-gaged core materials by preliminarily heating the core materials to the temp. higher with the outside core materials than with the inside core material, thereby correcting the temp. distribution by cooling during rolling. CONSTITUTION:The atm. air or other gas is filled in the pack rolling stock formed by sandwiching the top and bottom of the core materials 1, 1' with cover materials 2, enclosing the circumference thereof with spacers 3 of the same material as the cover materials 2, and welding the entire circumference or a vacuum atmosphere is maintained therein. The rolling stock cools from the outside if=3 sheets of such core materials 2 are superposed. The outside core materials 1, therefore, cools to the temp. lower than the temp. of the inside core material 1. The core materials are, thereupon, heated to the temp. higher with the outside core materials 1 than with the inside core material so that the stock is gradually cooled from the outside during rolling and the dispersion in the temp. between the core materials is minimized as far as possible throughout the entire rolling stage. As a result, the difference in the elongation and the difference in the draft between the cores are minimized and the dispersion in the sheet thickness is minimized.
