PURPOSE: To obtain a formed article consisting of cellulose acetate having biodegradability accelerated in an appropriate degree as a biodegradable mate rial by separating a microorganism having deacetylation activity against cellu lose acetate and using the microorganism. ;CONSTITUTION: This formed article is composed of cellulose acetate having an acetylation degree of 10-57%. The formed article carries at least one microorganism selected from a group consisting of Bacillus cereus, Bacillus sp. and Sphingomonas paucimobilis and having deacetylation activity against cellulose acetate and/or a deacetylation enzyme against cellulose acetate produced by the microorganism.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
