PURPOSE: To cool concrete from the inside by utilizing a hollow steel pipe as structural member. ;CONSTITUTION: In a bridge pier construction method in which a plural number of hollow steel pipes 2 which stand on a foundation 1 and are arranged in accordance with the shape of cross section of pier are joined vertically up to the predetermined height to construct a group of steel pipes 2A of the predetermined height, then the outside of the group of the steel pipes 2A is surrounded by a slide type frame 12, and concrete C is placed sequentially in the inner side surrounded by the frame 12 to integrate it with each hollow steel pipe 2, a water filling pipe 7 is connected to and arranged in the lower part of each hollow steel pipe 2.
