PURPOSE: To improve the washing performance of rice by providing rice washing rods for stirring the rice in a tank, and providing a jet nozzle for feeding air into the tank with the feed water pressure and generating air bubbles in the water in the tank at the bottom section of the tank. ;CONSTITUTION: This rice washing device 11 is constituted by a rice washing tank 12, a rice washing rod 13, a jet nozzle 14 arranged at the bottom section 16 of the rice washing tank 12, and a pipe 15 connected to the upper peripheral wall 17 of the rice washing tank 12. When rice is to be washed, the rice immersed in the water in the rice washing tank 12 is stirred by the rice washing rods 13, water and air are fed from the jet nozzle 14 into the rice washing tank 12, and many fine air bubbles A are generated. The bubbles A are uniformly brought into contact with the rice immersed in the water in the rice washing tank 12 and pass through the gaps between rice grains, and the separation between the rice and rice bran and the flotation of rice bran are accelerated.
