PURPOSE: To obtain a coil breakdown-strength testing machine whose dielectric strength between trigger frequencies is large by a method wherein a core for a trigger transformer in an impulse generation circuit is constituted in such a way that an opening is made in a core material. ;CONSTITUTION: Trigger transformers 21 to 23 ON-OFF-control FETs 18 to 20, and a trigger pulse generator 24 excites the trigger transformers 21 to 23. Cores for the trigger transformers 21 to 23 are composed of, e.g. ring cores in which openings have been made in core materials. The ring cores are small, and they can transmit large trigger electric power. Two conductors which correspond to a primary coil are passed through every opening in the center of every ring core. Conductors which are thick and to which a high-breakdown-strength insulating operation has been executed are used as the two conductors. Thereby, it is possible to constitute a coil breakdown- strength testing machine whose dielectric strength between the trigger transformers 21 to 23 in a plurality is large and which is low-cost. In addition, the trigger transformers 21 to 23 which are small can be arranged in nearest positions at each of the FETs 18 to 20, and a uniform trigger waveform can be obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
