PURPOSE: To automatize the data backup work conventionally performed after the end of business. ;CONSTITUTION: A personal computer LAN is provided with a terminal 6₁ for backup. A timer TS₁ is energized by a start switch, and after a certain time, a server power source is turned on and a timer TT₁ is energized. The server automatically starts by a start program, and the power source of the terminal 6. is turned on by the timer TT₁ after the completion of this start. The terminal 6₁ whose power source is turned on performs the automatic start processing by a start program and copies data in a hard disk 1 on the server 1 side by a backup device on the terminal 6₁ side after the personal computer LAN log-in processing and performs the personal computer LAN log-out processing and outputs a server stop processing start signal by a stop program. The server stop processing is performed by this signal to energize a timer TS₂, and the server power source is turned off after the completion of the stop processing.
