PURPOSE: To obtain an intensified contrast and the max. optical density having low pepper fogging by bonding a specific contrast intensifier with the hydrazine compd. in a silver halide emulsion. ;CONSTITUTION: At least one layer of silver halide photographic components contain the compd. selected from 3-indiazolinones, urazols, 2-pyrazoline-5-ons, 3-pyrazoline-5-ons and 4(3H)-pyrimidones as the contrast intersifier. These components are developed in the presence of a hydrazine compd. More preferably, the hydrazine compd. is introduced into ≥1 layers of the photographic components. The central nuclei of the compds. included within the range of the 3-indiazolinones to be used as the contrast intensifier are expressed by formula I. The 3-indiazolinones are expressed by formula II. In the formula II, R1 to R4 are hydrogen atoms, alkyl groups, substd. alkyl groups, aryl groups, alkoxyphenyl groups, etc.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
