PURPOSE: To accurately generate a target elliptic curve in consideration of a tool diameter and then enable the machining of an elliptic surface and the generation of a graphic-rotated elliptic curve. ;CONSTITUTION: This method is a method which generates an elliptic curve by controlling the coordinate position of the tool by using the angle θ of eccentricity of an elliptic curve E as a parameter so that the tangent-directional moving speed of the contact between the tool T of the numerically controlled machine tool and a work W becomes constant, and performs control so that the center track of the tool passes a coordinate position (xn, yn) which is distant from the elliptic curve E in the tangent direction by a quantity corresponding to the tool radius (r).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
