METHOD FOR INSPECTING AND REPAIRING DEFECTIVE PART OF INNER SURFACE OF BALLAST TANK WALL ON SHIP

PURPOSE: To surely inspect the inner surface of a ballast tank wall of a ship, and simplify the repair of the inner surface. ;CONSTITUTION: A soluble electrode is installed as an anode 3 in the sea water in a ballast tank 2 of a ship 1. A cathode 4 is arranged on a wall 15 of the ballast tank 2. A DC power source device 6 is connected to both electrodes through a temporarily installed wire 7, the current flows to achieve the electrolysis of the sea water 8. The dissolved metallic ion in the sea water 8 is precipitated to attach the electro-coating film 12 to a film-peeled part on the inner surface of the ballast tank wall or defective parts 14a, 14b due to the rust generation, and the adhered part is inspected as the defective part, and the defective part is repaired by adhering the electro-coating film 12.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
