FILE EDITING SYSTEM AND COMMON FILE EDITING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To provide a common file editing system which enables the version management of a file, and the secrecy and asynchronous editing of the contents of the file to a server. CONSTITUTION: On the common file editing system which is equipped with the file server 90 and plural access request clients 91 and allows the same file to be accessed by plural clients, the file includes plural block data and block discrimination information and the data are coded, block and block; and each access request client 91 is equipped with a means which decodes a file of desired version obtained from the server, block by block, a file editing means 122, a means which converts the procedure of editing into a procedure of editing for the latest version of the file on the server, a means 112 which codes edited data generated from the conversion result, and a means which outputs the coded edited data to the server 90, which is equipped with a means that manages the history of the file on the basis of the edited data received from the client 91 and the block discrimination information.
