PURPOSE:To obtain a chemical decontaminating agent having a significant decontaminating effect and ensuring high work efficiency in a decontaminating stage by dissolving sulfamic acid and oxalic acid as principal components in water. CONSTITUTION:Sulfamic acid and oxalic acid as principal components are dissolved in water to obtain a chemical decontaminating agent suitable for use in the primary system of a nuclear reactor and especially effective in removing radioactive metal oxides sticking to the surfaces of pipes, apparatus, etc. The pref. weight ratio between sulfamic acid and oxalic acid is about 2:1 and the pref. total amt. is usually about 1.0-20wt.%. An auxiliary such as hydroxyacetic acid, an inhibitor, etc., are further added as required.
