BORING MACHINE USED FOR CONE PENETRATION TEST MACHINE

PURPOSE: To execute one or both of cone penetration test and boring subsurface detection in the same place in accordance with the hardness of the subsurface and to enable the execution subsurface exploration efficiently by constituting monolithically a cone penetration test machine and a boring machine on the same axial center. ;CONSTITUTION: Both up and down chucks 42 and 43 are mounted to penetration cylinders 40 erected on a lower frame 20 along a guide cell 50 so that they are capable of moving up and down. The guide cell 50 is so constituted that it moves up and down together with the lower frame 20 along a guide shoe 10a as the expansion of a cylinder 30, and a drill head 6 pivoted on a drill slide table 51 is loaded in a liftable manner. When a cone penetration test is executed, a cone penetration rod is inserted in a rod breaker 44 for the addition and separation of a rod and into holes for both up and down chucks, and both up and down chucks are alternately raised and lowered to penetrate into the ground. When the rod reaches a hard subsurface, the cone penetration rod is removed, and MWD subsurface detection is made while boring the ground with the dril head 6 equipped with a boring rod. When it passes through a rock, it is replaced with the cone penetration rod again.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
