PURPOSE: To enable generating trigger based on effective value without using IC for RMS conversion and IC for trigger and reduce the cost by providing effective value producing trigger generator based on program processing. ;CONSTITUTION: With an effective value operator 68 of an effective value producing trigger generator 76 based on program processing, waveform data are read out of a waveform data memory 42 to calculate an effective value. The effective value is written in an effective value storing memory 52 with an effective value writing means and sent to a trigger generator 74. A trigger generation judgment means 72 judges whether the trigger is already generated and if not, the trigger generator 74 read out an effective value from the effective value storing memory 52 and compares the effective values operated the last time and this time. If the present time effective value is in a specific relation to the trigger level and the last time effective value is not in the specific relation to the trigger level, it can generate a trigger.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
