PURPOSE: To provide the network control system for automatically controlling traffic quantity so that the traffic quantity can be settled down within a fixed value at all times by performing the disconnection and reconnection of any specified terminal based on the traffic quantity on a network cable. ;CONSTITUTION: In a network for exchanging data among terminals by connecting plural terminals 18a-18n through a network cable 10, a traffic monitoring device 15 monitors the number of packets to flow on the cable 10 at all times and calculates the traffic quantity. Then, the calculated traffic quantity is compared with a specified value and when the traffic quantity exceeds the specified value or is less than the specified value, control data are respectively issued. Terminal control parts 16a-16n receive the control data from the device 15 and perform processing to disconnect any specified terminal from the cable 10 and processing to reconnect it to the cable 10. Thus, the traffic quantity on the cable 10 can be automatically controlled so as to be less than the previously decided specified value at all times.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
