PURPOSE: To constantly equally maintain the temperature of primary gas and secondary gas in the outlet of a twin flow type air preheater. CONSTITUTION: An electric damper 8 is provided in the secondary gas passage 5 of the outlet of a twin flow type air preheater 2, control damper 46 is provided in a primary gas passage 3. The temperature of primary gas 4 in the outlet of the air preheater 2 and the temperature of secondary gas 6 are detected by thermometers 54 and 55. The opening degree of the control damper 46 is controlled so that the detected temperature signal 56 of the primary gas 4 is equal to the detected temperature signal 57 of the secondary gas 6.
