DRIVING GEAR FOR SEAT OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT MEANS FREE TO CHANGE DIMENSION

PURPOSE: To improve safety of a public transport means and to minimize necessity of maintenance by moving a seat between the maximum dimensions and the minimum dimensions of a space between frames by rotating a worm having an axis in parallel with a dimensional axis in the unidirection. ;CONSTITUTION: A worm 6 of a driving gear 1 has an axis in parallel with a dimensional axis 3 and is connected to at least one nut 8 installed on seats 2a-2c to be moved. The worm 6 is connected to the seat 2c or a rigid structure 4 by at least one rotary supporting bearing 10. This worm 6 is moved in parallel by rotating it manually or by an electric motor or its similar apparatus. Consequently, the seats 2a-2c move in accordance with movement of the worm 6. Additionally, the worm 6 is constituted of a single screw for all the seats 2a-2c. Moreover, the worm 6 is constituted of a plural number of screws, and the seats 2a-2c can be selectively moved.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
