PURPOSE:To retrieve an object program by an abbreviated key by referring to program index data header data of a present teletext broadcasting, decoding a broadcasting code thereof and presetting the code and a program number. CONSTITUTION:The teletext receiver 3 fetches a video signal from a television receiver 1 and is provided with a characater signal sampling circuit 5 for sampling the teletext signal, a CPU 6 for controlling various arithmetic and between circuits, a picture storing and controlling circuit 7 for outputting a video synchronizing signal, a ROM 8 for storing the program or the like, a RAM for storing a reservation number or other data and a remoate control input circuit 10 for receiving a remote control signal from a teletext remote control 4. Thereby, after a reservation key is depressed, when the abbreviated key for respective fields, the broadcasting station code of the broadcasting station is detected from the present reproducing teletext signals, the broadcasting station code is stored in a broadcasting station code storage area and the program number is registered in a reservation area for the respective fields succeeding thereto.
