PURPOSE:To obtain a device for collecting all sponge balls which are leaked out without being collected with a collector in a condenser cooling water discharge pit. CONSTITUTION:Front and rear door grooves are provided on a water gate column 2 of a nuclear or thermal power station discharge pit 1 and a standing screen 7 having a sponge ball catching means for condenser cooling water tube cleaning is spread on a rear stage door groove. A temporary screen 6 is spread only at the time of maintenance and inspection of the standing screen 7 on the front stage door groove and sponge balls for condenser cooling water tube cleaning which are leaked out without being collected with a collector provided on condenser cooling tubes in a nuclear or thermal power station discharge pit are collected.
